OPENING: House Assistant / Direct Support Professional

Assistants are trained as Direct Support Professionals to provide quality care for Core Members (people with intellectual disabilities) at L’Arche. This care is given and received in a spirit of mutuality and friendship.
Together, Assistants and Core Members create the unique pulse of life in a L’Arche community--building meaningful relationships, inspiring equality, and welcoming others just as they are.
Many Assistants choose to live in the L'Arche home as their primary residence; this type of community living is central to our mission. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS No previous experience necessary. L'Arche will provide 4-6 weeks of paid training time.The following are required:
A desire to work & live in an intentional faith community, developing mutual relationships with people with disabilities
Ability to implement health care plans and to respond appropriately in an emergency
Able to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
High school graduate or equivalent required
18+ years old, eligible to work in the United States
A valid driver's license

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Depending on our staffing needs, L'Arche has both fulltime and part-time, as well as live-in and live-out assistant apositions available. Fill out the form below to indicate what type of role you are interested in. L'Arche provides:
For live-in assistants: room & board including: a private bedroom, water/utilities/internet, & meals/common grocery items (approximately a $7,000 value)
Competitive salary
20 PTO (Paid Time Off) days per year
Nearly full coverage (93%) for health, vision, & dental insurance (approximately a $5,000 value)
